    Hahaha,Doug! That's a HUGGGGGEEEEE compliment,really- and appreciated! I intend soon enough to write again, just gigs keep surprising me;
Before 10th sept already 6, and they are very different from each other. However:I keep to my word, don't worry!)

    Default party people

    party people, drunken hell
their songs sung, no tales to tell
it seems that circus came to town
my phantasy guns them all down

    gimme peace, please,gimme peace
    put myself at ease
    gimme peace,please,gimme peace
    they're so hard to please

    party people, stumbling around
none of them yet homeward bound
    bus is waiting, chauffeur sleeps
    somewhere a shadow creeps

    gimme peace,please,gimme peace
    put myself at ease
    gimme peace,please,gimme peace
    they're so hard to please!

@Party People......if I didn't already say this is a great start for a song, let me say it now.I know you tend towards poetry rather than song lyrics,a rather curious thing for a musician! When I say that "this could be a song" it's the highest praise I can bestow on it!Another good one my friend in flowers!(The Flowerpot People rule the world!!!)

Thanks for your flowery words, Doug.
I disagree when you find it strange my lyrics do at times tend rather more towards poetry as a musician.
An awful lot of songlyrics are real poetry really. Take The Doors, e.g.
More to come as rest returns , Doug, but 5 gigs and a journey in front of me.
    Take care!

Amaryn,my good friend, and poet extrodinare,I think you're misunderstanding my previous remark.I,by no means, think of any less of your poetry.I simply think this;you write such great lines,I'm surprised, being a musician, that you wouldn't attempt to turn them into songs first. You've read my stuff,I've argued with writers on this site that they are songs rather than poetry.(See the thread Honesty,if you want to see what I'm talking about)my point was this;it's hard to come up with great song material,I think you'd first try for Song Lyrics to put to music.I agree the best Lyrics are Poetry.Jim Morrison had to meet Ray Manzarek Before he turned his poetry into songs.I hope I've cleared up this poetry vs.Song lyrics.Being a musician I just asked "why not a song?"

    slowly thinking of slumbering
    after the sun has set
    bringing back a memory
of a shadow I have met
    always standing in the shade
    of a sturdy apple tree
    whispering with a tender voice
    do you remember me?

    Default envy

a rabbit sitting in a chair
looked bored and mumbled "life ain't fair,
I can't eat fancy food, you know,
grass and roots, I hate them so
    Something sauté or flamboyé
would brighten up my mind,I'd say
    maybe someday someone will see
that food is more than grass to me"

    Default vague expectations

    in the shade of zombieland
    it is hard to understand
how people still reach out their hands
    to help a lonely friend
now winter knocks at our door
just as it did the year before
but who can tell - as times are changing-
what spring will have in store?

Envy:This is almost as cool as "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane! That's as good a compliment as I can think of.Vague Expections:I like this too.I think you outlook on helping "less fortunate" might change if you lived in San Francisco.People stand outside every store with their hands out, sleep and go to the bathroom on the sidewalks, and generally demenish the quality of life for everyone.I was a hippie, but the scene now is unbearable!

    ackowledgement

true she had her own odd ways
true she could be cross for days
but she still stayed in my world
I loved her much, that girl

    true she quarreled sometimes much
true she could avoid my touch
but at times she took my hand
she said I was her friend

clouds paint skies in different ways
    they never seem the same
now we've spent so many days
    looking at their game

true, I also can be rude
    sometimes feel misunderstood
but I find of all my friends
    it's her who understands

Acknowledgement:Another Amaryn classic!I cant believe how well you rhyme and write in English.I say this considering I can't read most of your Tweets!I only wish they put more emphasis on learning different languages in school.Of course, the attitude was,"if you don't speak English,it didn't count!"I only wish I could speak and write in Spanish or French to name two. Thanks for naming your poems,it's easier to discuss when you write multiple pieces.

    Default rain

    rain
    my heart is bleeding
    pouring down all day
    emotions
    without feeding
    will soon be thrown away

    rain
    relentless smiling
    pouring down all day
    emotions
    without trying
    will slowly fade away
