Default Life of a door salesman

Just remember those times when people worked hard to keep you safe fed and in a house. Those are true heros and deserve more then to be forgotten.

    All aboard this power train
Forget the stinging in your brain
We are on the move again
    So far away from home

    Living out of those suitcases
    Forever meeting stranger faces
    Never knowing these new places
You just want to go home

    These times are getting worse
Never a cent spare in your purse
    Harder times don't disperse
    Leave the family at home

    This is a gruelling life
Give it all to your poor wife
Go and sell one more knife
So the family can keep their home

    So tired you just fainted
    Keep your smile forever painted
Those steps you take forever tainted
    Long road to home

Now your family is all grown up
No longer is your child a pup
Your wife no longer your buttercup You can start to head home

You have lost so much more
Whilst knocking on their front door
What have you been working for
You get to stay at home

    Nothing but an empty shell
Now your in this empty hell
With all the time you need to dwell
    About times missed at home

TP,this is very unique.I'm very impressed and was very entertained reading this. This reminds me of poetry I read when growing up,back when the computer was something out of Twight Zone.I know I'll be back to reread this many times!

Great! I love it how every stanza ends with 'home'. Just like LooknGlass' song Greenback it's the feeling of compassion that appeals to me. Keep the train rollin'!

Good one. The working man is overlooked. People overrate athletes, movie stars and politicians in our society.
