    Default Hindsight

    (Vs)
Today the paper brought heartbreaking news
Saw your wedding picture in section 2
Said your honeymoon would be in Paris France
and I cursed myself for my missed chance

    (Vs)
There was a time when you belonged to me
a time I belonged to you equally
But I put off asking for your waiting hand
and you drifted away to another man

    (Ch)
    Hindsight leave me be
don't want to look back and see
What I gave up and what I lost
what I took for granted and what it cost
    Hindsight all you're bringing me
    is regret and stinging tears
    I don't need you hindsight
    my guilt's already here

    (Vs)
    I used to daydream we would meet again;
reignite the flame that we had back then
I visualized the picture I see
and instead of him it was you with me

    (Vs)
But I led you on for way too long
you got tired of waiting and just moved on
    I know I acted like I didn't care
but my feigned indifference hid despair

    (Ch)
    Hindsight leave me be
don't want to look back and see
What I gave up and what I lost
what I took for granted and what it cost
    Hindsight all you're bringing me
    is regret and stinging tears
    I don't need you hindsight
    my guilt's already here

    (Bridge)
I see a young boy standing by your side
Did you think it wouldn't matter to me?
    You hid from me what his face can't hide;
the part of me that'll make you happy

    (Ch)
    Hindsight leave me be
don't want to look back and see
What I gave up and what I lost
what I took for granted and what it cost
    Hindsight all you're bringing me
    is regret and stinging tears
    I don't need you hindsight
    my guilt's already here

This is great writing.I love the chorus, especially, but the verses hit home too. This is certainly different from your previous songs, being a fan of your enire cataloge,I hope you haven't abandoned your previous style.

    Hi, LooknGlass!
Read with great interest your poem/song.
I have to say, I was scared by that dreadful line " "There was a time you belonged to me"
though you continue alike to say the same was the case the other way round.
I never thought of you as uttering Such Possesive Thoughts
A lot of misery derives exactly from it- and you know it!
    Well anyway, well expressed thoughts.
You throw The Bone of Meditation in front of us:advicing:"don't be as stupid as I was"
    I won't, don't worry.

Thanks Doug if you saw the gazzilion lyrics I have, you would find a lot of experimental and different genre lyrics. This one has a collaborator working on the music as well as one I posted a while back called "Little Wood Box". Hope to see it finished in the near future.

Hiya amaryn, thanks for reading and commenting...... I believe in a relationship that my body is not mine but my spouses and vice versa. Self brings selfishness, but when you live for someone else, it brings balance as long as the other spouse does the same thing. This one will have music in the near future, I'll post a link when it's done.
