Default Solved: Help on a song I heard during a halftime montage clip

I was watching the halftime of the Notre Dame @ Stanford, and they played a slow motion montage of first half play footage with a song by a male singer.

It had a pop/pop-rock sound, and it had a whistle chorus in it. From what I can remember hearing, it sounded like "I have to go when I go, when I feel it in my soul", it had another line and then it did a catchy whistling chorus.

I think I have the lyrics wrong, but I hope that I had enough to help make it easier. Thanks for any time and help!

My wild guess is "Soul Music" by Everlast

Thanks for the guess, but I remember that it wasn't that song. I'd say it was more in the vein of 'American Authors - Best Day Of My Life' or 'B.o.B. 0 Magic' in the liveliness and more contemporary sound.

Oh wow, thanks for that. I haven't gotten on in a while, I'll be sure to browse that to see if I find it.

On an update, I think it might have been played in a commercial for the Oscars (2014), the one where Ellen DeGeneres is piggy backing Jimmy Kimmel, and Kimmel makes the joke "Guess who I'm wearing?"

It sounded similar, so maybe if anybody knows the song that was played in that particular clip it could be it.

Hah, that's it! Thanks a bunch! I kind of figured it would be hard for people to figure it out based on that little montage clip, but I believe that that is the same one from it.

Definitely the same as the Oscar commercial, and I'm pretty sure it is the original one I was looking for. Thanks again!
