@Teshka Yes! We were missing Costello! Good job.

@Moonride*r* I always liked the smooth sound of vinyl!

Can't argue with that either. Just like too much else in the music world (and the rest of the world).
    Amen!

It can be accidental ... or not!

wow ok....R.H.O.F. and Rolling Stone mag....do we really wanna talk about the 'politics' of music?

because that convo can't be totally finished until you talk about East Coast vs. West Coast Rap music in the 1990's, and i know about all of that because they were still talking about it when I was in college 10 years ago. Puff Daddy vs. Tupac, Vanilla Ice the 'white boy' doing rap?? and then the murders of Tupac and Notorius B.I.G.... and then the 'new'-Gangsta-Rappers like Three 6 Mafia and so many others that made Rap so dark and scary that even 2 presidents called it a danger to American society.....money, drugs, gangs and guns...and racism?....

"It was the complexion of this man's skin that made all of the controversy that surrounded his career...." Sway Calloway interviewing Rob Van Winkle about all of that history https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE5sRXF34b4

Well anyway Amethyste your U2 post reminded me about 2 NFL football halftime shows that I've seen in videos.....U2 (they've done several including at least 1 Superbowl?) and the guy that i'm listing here. This was just last year, with his Insane Clown Posse and the Houston Texans Cheerleaders

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9Amh8KFZcc

But this one's even better, partly because it's MOSCOW instead of LA and the Russian sisters in the background are looking good .....well most of them anyway

Very Cool Selection Amethyste! Chris de Burg has the Perfect Voice for that kind of song ... Troubadour-ish? Or so I've always imagined the wandering/singing story-tellers of the Middle Ages. And that reminds me of a very particular Moody Blues song, but I'll save it for a later time.

And Merry Christmas to you! Do you celebrate on the western or eastern/Orthodox calender? Apologies... right now I'm too lazy to look it up.
    __________

For now a sad note, on the eve of a 'joyous' Christmas for most of us...

Joe Cocker, 20 May 1944 – 22 December 2014. Rest In Peace brother. He passed away this past Monday, from cancer I believe. Just before Christmas; I feel a sadness for his family during what should be a much happier time.

Indeed. And for some odd reason, that song brought this one to mind:
