You're right, even if we don't know who wrote it and when, Animals' version is legendary!

And since we're talking about renditions here's a Jimmy Rogers' R&B hit that became a Rock one by Gary Moore.

    And you rock!!! Thank-you-very-much!

Ooooh wait, oh man, that (very weak) Elvis impersonation reminded me of... an Elvis impersonation!

Yep, these guys again. This track was one of two new ones on their 1992 Greatest Hits CD.

Taking a Pirate-fed "Parrothead" moment to recognize an American Soft Rock cult-legend:

I think, maybe, you have to hear Jimmy Buffet live to "feel the rock" in his music. He usually cranks the vocal mike to push the words and theme of the song. But now and then, the rest of the song still manages to take over. Like this:

I haven't watched more than a few minutes of any game so far, maybe coz I fear the USA won't make it any further than the quarter-finals.
But I also have another favorite... long-shot, sleeper, dark horse, whatever...

    Costa Rica.

PS Amethystos: Previous page... Cream and Canned Heat, nice one-two punch! Not overlooking that fine rockin' cover by Gary Moore either.

Yeah ok, I'll concede that they played a solid game, a really good game overall... but I think if they had helped Dempsey attack goal a lot more in the first 30 minutes, they coulda won. And they'll have to do that against Germany.

That second song, "Everyday People" ... I'm sure Sly Stone never imagined anybody smokin' it like Joan Jett did

    Original lyrics:

Sometimes I'm right, and I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the banker, the drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I'm in
    I am everyday people

There is a blue one who can't accept the green one
For living with a fat one trying to be a skinny one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo-bee
    Oooh sha-sha
    We gotta live together

I am no better, and neither are you
We are the same, whatever we do
You love me, you hate me, you know me and then
You can't figure out the [bag|beat] I'm in
    I am everyday people

There is a long hair that doesn't like the short hair
For bein' such a rich one that will not help the poor one
And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo-bee
    Oooh sha-sha
    We got to live together

There is a yellow one that won't accept the black one
That won't accept the red one that won't accept the white one
    Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo-bee
    Oooh sha-sha
    I am everyday people
