Default Joan Osborne - What Becomes of the Broken Hearted

the 'other' Joan, singing a cover of another Motown classic for the Funk Brothers documentary

I've always loved the earthy qualities of her voice.....and whatever went on in Motown the Funk Brothers were always there.

Amen bruddah! I assume that was Sambora on lead guitar. Freakin' Awesome! The guitar and Cher. Man if I had a bottle of Ouzo handy, I'd toss you the whole thing.

Well ... as a generation we're too fortunate to have Mark Knopfler (while at his pick point of guitar-mastership) playing his solos for us anytime we want!

The incredible solo starts at 4.50 and goes till the end

Amethyste, I salute you for that one ol' boy...

Sultans of Swing was the first song I ever heard by Dire Straits on the radio, one fine spring day in 1986. Los Angeles, driving home from work. (Yep, I remember it that clearly.) I pulled into a shopping mall and bought the CD.

Default Gipsy Kings - Baila Me

I (for one) can't ignore these guys for too long. I started hearing them on American radio in late '92, and within a month I owned 2 or 3 of their CDs. The Reyes and Baliardo brothers, Andalusian Gypsies ("Gitana Soy"). Their lyrics are hard to understand sometimes coz they're mostly Spanish, but with a little Portuguese and some other stuff thrown in. But this song's simple enough... and man, it rocks me to the bone.

    (Dance, dance, dance for me)
    Me enamoré de esta gitana...

    Znayesh, milaya.
