Default Texas Tornados - Soy de San Luis

Did you think I was gonna write that sort of "intro" and not go here? Xaxa. Again not "Spanish" at all, but... it just is what it is. And I love that little intro by Freddie Fender (RIP),

Original recording in HD - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZERymr3mD8

Voy a cantar estos versos, aunque yo no soy de aqui
Yo soy puro Mexicano, soy de San Luis Potosí.
Caminando y caminando, he llegado a San Antonio
Me encontre muy buen trabajo, y tambien con el demonio.

Found me a little Tejanita, and I fell in love with her
She was so bonita and I had to marry her...

... And on to a better ending than the song?

    Lyrics (not 100% correct) > http://www.metrolyrics.com/soy-de-sa...-tornados.html

A big "thank you" for picking "Staind" cause none of their songs was on my list, and for making me remember I Ran (So Far Away)

I can imagine that there may be some differences among Spanish and American Spanish talking nations, but if an individual shows with words or acts signs of "origin-superiority" then laughter is all he needs to realize how things are.... Such behaviors should not be left uncriticized cause they tend to become currents.

Yes, Santana is de Mexico, but I grew up hearing about his Afro-Cubano style, which incorporates two other islands. And for a time one of those islands seemed as much "Russian" as "American". Comprendes? But I digress...

For this round, I came up with the theme title "The Culturalization of (a) Rock."

Please pardon the pun. You can interpret those five words any way you like, 'coz I intend it to mean at least two different things. ...

    1. The "Rock" is the Americas (all of it), and it's also the Music (all of it).
    2. The other implication is not so kind. Can a rock be cultured at all?

But Yes! Indeed it can! (By some definition anyway.) And here I might mention (for starters) a certain legendary cadre from Chicago, visiting New Orleans, singing about some other island(s) called the Bahamas.....
Oh I see .... please may someone call a doctor for MoonRide*r*?
yea he talks about "culturalization of rocks"

Man, I think you overdo it, rock IS culture it doesn't need a thing to culturalize it.
Just like every nation has it's own culture, which at least basic points of it SHOULD BE preserved for the generations to come.

Never heard "She's About a Mover " thanks for that mate!

I so agree Moon and Amethyste, about culture ....it's only by 'accident' that we are born or placed into a certain culture and then it becomes our own, and it should become our purpose to preserve all of the good things that we represent....even if other people can't ever see those good things as well as we can

I ♥LOVE♥ ALL OF THE GUITAR in those songs!

De nada amigo. I got lucky in finding that one. And if you hadn't brought up "Spanish" (which led me to Tex-Mex and so on) I could've easily overlooked it for another several months.

It's true, Fleetwood Mac happened to be a little over-intellectual for most of rockers, but personally I like them.

Default Talking Heads - Psycho Killer

This song had taken a lot of effort to get the arrangement that made it a hit.
Talking heads wrote it back in 1974 but was released in 1977 after drastic changes.

There was a great funny cover of this only 3 years after original's release called "Psycho Chicken"

    @Amethyste...

Gotthard, yvw....classic Suisse rock, love those guys! i'm gonna post another one of theirs in another thread soon

The Cure - Fascination Street....wow serious déjà vu from college days, and that's all that i'm gonna say about that

Psycho Chicken! Talking Heads (and some others) always remind me of the movie CBGB. Have you ever seen it? It's.......um.......well you just need to try to see it if you haven't yet bcs if nothing else it's very historical and well worth it!
