Watching a hard drive spin
It all comes around again
WHY can't you see
That I am just ME
And not a recycled clone
Of your pitbull's favorite bone
You gnaw on my persona
As if you're the owner
Of everything right
And you've already won the fight
Get a grip
On your self righteous trip
Open your eyes, free your brain
Before you drive me insane
With your huff and blow
Cause it's all just a show
Of your globalization
Of the personal equation
I'm not all red
But your talking heads
Paint everything 'me'
With template hypocrisy
And it's layered so thick
That you can heave it like a brick
At whatever moves
Outside of your groove
God forbid don't dishevel
Your comfort level
With original thought
Because the ones that bought you
Would tremble in angst
If you dare to break rank
With a Party plank....
Hello hello it's Me! and I'm not the devil
You want to read poetry
Into your metered bigotry
But what you can't see
Is the verse about Me
I'm not you
Or your preferred shade of blue
I'm unrehearsed
In my own freestyle verse
Wake up
Before you break up
The sanctity
Of our mutual individuality
Read between the lines
For the truth that defines
The One that is free
To be who we each want to be
Indigo, burgundy or
Ochre edged in green....
Where is the crime
In taking the time
To unpace the Walk
And just Talk
About You
And Me.
