    I) Regarding

    17) Ο άνθρωπος με το γαρύφαλλο

are you telling us that you are a secret Communist sympathizer?

Or do you just happen to like the ballad?

Oh wait a second, never mind.

If you told me, you might have to shoot me, right?

So please, keep it to yourself. I prefer being above ground!

    Also:

II) Regarding your over-all selection of ballads here, I have to say I'm a little surprised. In English, we would call this "easy-listening" music, and I didn't think you were the "easy-listening" type ...

In Greece the political thought is different from America. Apart from the fascists, all listening to leftist political songs, without guilt. It's something I can not analyze it more here.

    2) I 'm a good music lover...

Thanks for the explanation about the politics.

But since you're a "good-music" lover, I have an unrelated question for you.

What do you HONESTLY think of

    Υπάρχω - 1975
    Στίχοι: Πυθαγόρας
    Μουσική: Χρήστος Νικολόπουλος
    http://www.stixoi.info/stixoi.php?in...s&song_id=3616
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mioMTArHFUc

Personally, I don't care how many copies it sold, or how many awards it won, or what Νικολόπουλος himself thinks of it.

    I DON'T think it's laika at all, and I DON'T think it's a great song.

I think the original opinion of Καζαντζίδης regarding the song was correct:

    https://greeksongstories.wordpress.c...-golden-music/

"Even Stelios Kazantzidis denied it at first as they worked on an album at the end of that year. When I played the song to Kazantzidis he didn’t like it. He said: “why to sing this slow rock tune?”

I do not care about that song, I never sang.

Secret? What are you talking about?

EVERY GREEK IS FREE TO HAVE THE POLITICAL BELIEF HE PREFERS.

This is a worldwide forum containing threads almost 10 years old, I hate the idea of someone going to
read this one in the future and believe that in Greek society we have restrictions concerning our political OR religious beliefs.

Ps. Don't like the specific song but the lyricist. The lyrics of "Ομορφη πολη" are magnificent!
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

I was only joking, Amethystos, and I am glad Greece finally has real political freedom.

But unfortunately, the joke is "real" here in the US.

Even though the "Cold War" is over, it is probably better here for real Communists to keep their beliefs to themselves.

Thanks for the info and the clarification!
