Music in 5/8 rhythm is very common throughout all of "balkania", not just Greece. In fact, Dave Brubeck got the inspiration for the legendary jazz classic "Take Five" during a trip to the area:

But it is not that common these days to hear a 5/8 song played on the Greek radio and web stations which play zeibekika, hasapika, and tsiftetelli's primarily as "listening" music.

In fact, this is the only one I have heard recently on Glenti 101.1, Dalkas 88.2, Radio Rainbow Greece (Live365), and Radio Greek Sound (Live365).

    Oops! I made a mistake. The Mitropanos song is a 5/4, not a 5/8!
