This might be easy for somebody who knows that era well. It should be easy for me, but I'm brain-dead to this one. And worn out trying to find it on my own. As I remember, the song got a lot of air time, but I was in Florida at the time and maybe those local jocks just loved to spin it...

Somewhere between 1986-1991, most likely '87-'89...

Slow tempo (moody, sad/regretful?), solo vocalist I believe, closer to tenor than baritone; strong vocal chorus, and a tenor sax? I think the main opening lyric is like, "What... would/did you think" ...... ..... ... ?"walk out on me"? ........ and toward the end there's a break and then a long drawn-out... "aaaaaaa-a-a-gain..." (something like that, very memorable, unless you're brain-dead)... and an instrumental close. Again I'm thinking sax.

Wish I could remember more, but I haven't heard the song in a decade or more. I'm not even sure about most of the little bit I tried to describe.

    Any clues?

Oooh yeah. I knew that was right as soon as I read the title.
You da Man! Many thanks. If I can repay the favor in some way, just holla.
