Loved You Too Much (4/27/15)

Day in, day out, this 9-5 work
Has got me feeling down.
Same 4 walls, same stale coffee,
Head keeps spinning round.

I was so wrapped up in an idea,
That I lost track of what was real.
When my plane took off of the runway,
I wasn’t sure how to feel.

I wish I would have stayed,
I’d have stayed until the end.
We could have been lovers,
But more importantly, friends.
We’d make a life of poor choices,
And late nights of drinking wine,
Under the covers on Monday mornings,
With our bodies intertwined.
I’d have loved you,
With every breath, word, and touch.
Yes, I would have loved you,
Too entirely much.

Catching up on emails,
But not a word from you.
The day is dragging on,
What am I to do?

I couldn’t stop myself from leaving,
I couldn’t force myself to stay.
I want to break this barrier,
I want this pain to go away.

Thank you, my friend! It's been an insanely busy couple of months, but I'm glad to be writing SOMETHING again. Working on a bit of SLAM poetry currently to try and shake things up It's good to be back though!
