trying to remember a song from late 80's early 90's

I am trying to remember a song from my teens. I think that the name is "Where are you now". I have no idea who sings it, but I think the chorus go's... "Where are you now, is someone there tonight holding what was mine..." Does anyone have any idea who sings this song??? Every time I search for it I get a Brittney Spears link. This was long before Brittney!
