Male singer - Rock ballad (?)

I've heard this song twice and I thought I could identify a lyric so I didn't bother
memorizing it. When I tried to find it though nothing would come up so I might
have understood the lyric wrong.

It sounds like a rock ballad and it's by a male voice. The lyrics I thought I understood
were: ''you're gold''. These lyrics are at the end of the chorus. The only other thing
that I remember is that it goes like "da da! ... you're gold''. So before the "you're gold''
part there are two syllables, then a pause for a few seconds and then the ''you're gold''
which the male voice prolongs a little bit like ''you're goooold''.

Man this is going to be impossible to find. I head the song both times on the radio
and haven't heard it since. I am not sure about the era. It should be 80's-today.
