Looking for a 90s song (not an easy search)

So I was at a party about two weeks ago, and it was all about 90s alternative rock.
The DJ played a song and the guitar riff is still stuck in my head.
Here's the kicker, I couldn't make out even the slightest bit of lyric.

Ive searched around all over youtube, clicked every 90s alt vid i could find, but nothing
Tried all the identifiers and hummed all over the internet, but nothing

I play guitar so what i guess the main riff is, would be something like this:

Sooo...yeah. A 90's song with a pretty high pitched, G to E note riff...
If anyone can figure out the band and the name of the song, I'd declare you the king of music

Honestly that's so vague, it could be almost anything. Do you have another band that they sound like? I know a lot of 90s alternative songs. Here's a list of some (and there are more suggestions in the comments). Maybe you will get lucky or find a similar song.
