Solved! Skip A Rope by Henson Cargill
Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this!
The song is an older song, possibly from 60's to early 70's, as to the genre, I'm not entirely sure. I'd say it reminds me a bit of Johnny Cash, it's just a low-tempo song and, if I can remember right, I believe it's about a bleak outlook on where the world is headed (or possibly how the world was at the time it came out) and he sings about how will or where will the children will play? I believe he says something about little girls and jump-ropes but I'm not 100% on that.
The overall tone of the song sounds as if the singer is indignant, angry even perhaps.
*Note, it's not Cat Stevens Where Do The Children Play
