Song I heard on the radio when I was in Vancouver in 2014

Hi guys!
I've been looking for some time now for a song that I heard several times in 2014 while I was visiting some friends in Vancouver.
I used to know more of the lyrics but it's been already three years and some of what I remembered has faded
What I remember is: It was a female singer. The thing that caught my attention the most was the screamy-ish sound that started the chorus, something like "ayyyyyy!". Then she sung something like "I sing this way" or "I scream this way", "feel it in my bones".
That's all I can think of right now.
