Etymology, Ετυμολογία = ἔτυμος (αληθινός) + λέγω in english (true/valid + call = I say the true)

Etymologically speaking most Greek words are compound....

    For example:
Ανθρωπος (Human/Man) is not being characterized as a compound word but...
    comes from
    «Άνδρας»(Man) +«ωψ» (Look)
"The one who looks like man"

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
