    Default searching for title-artist

This song is from the 90's, most likely the early part of it, it is by a female musical artist, and I am positive that it was a hit indie/alternative song. The only real lyrics that I remember go something like, "I like you to like me" and it says 'like' or 'like you' so many times within the song, but the main chorus that is most memorable is the upbeat 'na na nana na' part that it overdoes as well.
If anyone could please help me, I'd appreciate it greatly.

Try "I Want You, But I Don't Need You" by Momus

I like you, and I'd like you to like me to like you
    But I don't need you
Don't need you to want me to like you
Because if you didn't like me
I would still like you, you see
    La la la
    La la la

(some of the websites I found swap the "La La" lyrics for "Na Na"
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

The lyrics at first made me think that that was the right song, except the la la part, but I just listened to it on amazon and it was far from it, but thanks for trying to help.

Sorry, I overlooked your comment that the singer was female.
Try a cover of the same song by the Dresden Dolls (lead singer is Amanda Palmer)

hmm no.. that's not it either and I am really starting to doubt that I will be able to find it as the main chorus and most of the song goes something like 'na na nana na' and it creates a problem with the search results, so I think I might just have to search through the top hits of the early 90's or young female artists to possibly find it.
