    Thumbs up 80s, maybe early 90s New Wave song

    It's one of those Euro New Wave groups (Tears for Fears, Information Society, Pet Shop Boys etc) The lead volalist sounds closest to Tears for Fears, but it could be anybody.

    The hook sounds like "all I really wanted, [pause, then more singing with backup vocals]," those may not be the correct words.

    If I can "hum" using text, the hook is something like "(lead singer) ba-bum ba-bum ba-bum-bum, ba-ba-bumm ba-bumm (lead+backup vocals) ba-bummmmmm"

    I remember the melody-- it's kind of upbeat, and the instruments either includes piano, or synth that sounds piano-like. Any idea?

    PS. It's not Head Over Heels or Enjoy the Silence

    Thanks, but it's definitely a song that I heard on the radio in the early 90s. It could be from the 80s, but it's probably made around 1988-1992 time period

    I'm wondering if it could be Splitt - All I Ever Wanted {1986}

    I found a song by Johnny Logan from 1989 too

    Thanks. It's not the Johnny Logan song. I can't find music for the Splitt record-- it would be strange if the song is hard to find, since it did get radio play in North America. It must have ranked high enough on the record charts.

    I don't know what the artist(s) actually looked like, but I'd say Splitt "looks" like the type who would perform a song like this.

    I'm going to bet it's Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence

    (...All I ever wanted
    All I ever needed
    Is here in my arms...)

    I found an interesting website. I'm not musically inclined, but hopefully this can jog someone's memory
