Exclamation PLEASE HELP! unknown french song.

i was skiing in january (13/01/2007) in france in the alps and some french song was played every night in the clubs.

it was really popular with all the french.
but i couldn't catch any proper lyrics but it had a build up throughout the song and all the french sang
"da da-da da-da da dadada, da da-da da-da da dadada"

the "das" increase in speed, and the notes of the song get higher and higher in a big build up.

the french were also doin a kind of leg kicking dance but i don't know if that had anything to do with it!

i've been looking for this song on chart sites for ages and haven't had any luck.

    can anybody help me please???
    thanks alot.

Try "The French Waltz" by Art Garfunkel

(Yeah, rub it in... my first skiing trip in 25 years was on the rainy, icy slopes of North Carolina in February)
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

irish77 has not been heard for quite a while so we will probably never know, but for the younger ones...

    Edith Piaf - Milord

It sings of good cheer, drink, song and dance with good company and a warm shelter on cold nights. Combine those ingredients and listen to the last minute and see what happens...every time!

    Santé! Everybody!

I have just now seen your request. I think that this may be the song that you’ve been searching for. It’s called Sympathique, and is by Pink Martini:

It's probably Un Homme et une femme, like Tulip said.
