yes this is right , Ofra Haza was a yemenite jew from Israel and thus has many songs in yemenite arabic , and I think she has a few in arabic ....amm wait .... let me see .....

here is my ofra favorite song in yemenite dialect
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86o_icPB7CI (ya 7ilwi ya 7ali )

and here is her Hebrew song in arabic words , the song called Amen (amen)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRX20VbYvRc (she sings nice in arabic :-) )

here is a band from Israel called the "mind church" they have one song in arabic (I think it's moroccan dialect but i'm not sure since the singer has an Israeli accent )
    http://www.esnips.com/doc/6fbc2e34-f...יה

( the music has moroccan influence that's for sure)

and this is Dudu tasa from Israel an Iraqi jew , his grandfather was a singer in Iraq
this is a well known Iraqi song called fog al na5al (I think it means near the palms)

    Ciao
I'm not sure I understan all what you say here nicolas ,
you say you are from Sicily and that you study in america so you must know english then.
wellcome to this forum nicolas , I didn't know Sicily was once arabic , it nice to know that :-)
If you like arabic music as you said , then you are at the right place :-) although it seems that you don't need help in translations :-) but you can help us instead
I didn't understand what you mean about the music of tunis
and I think that at the end you asked if someone speak Italian
I think that about what you said in your message ... it was a good practice for me :-)

    Hi ladies -- and gentlemen,
I just joined today . . . I am from Mexico, but I live in the USA, but my family is a mix of Turkish-Spanish and Native Mexicans! Ha,ha, cool mix if I may say so myself. I was wondering if you knew where Ishtar Alabina is from. I would love to get her song "Horchat Hai Caliptos" translated to English or Spanish. I love that song and have used it for my belly dancing . . . people cried in the audience. Please help?

    Hi ,
Ishtar albina is from Israel (born and raised) she is half egyptian jewish and half moroccan jewish (with spanish roots since the jews of spain spread all over the world after they where deported from spain)
you can read it in her bio here http://www.alabina.info/bio.php.
she no longer lives in Israel , for 15 years now she lives in Paris
and BTW Ishtar was the first airplane mechanic in the IDF :-) just a little thing that not many knows
