I Need Help!

There's 2 songs on the radio i've heard dozens of times but i can't ever catch the name of either one, or who sings them... n e wayz...

The first one (country) goes "Oh I hear the weather's nice in california.... Sunny skies as far as I can see, If you ever come back home to carolina..."

The other one (punk) I just love! "Hey, Hey, You, You, I wanna be your girlfriend"

I've downloaded 3 or 4 possibles for this one (it's not lush!) and I still can't find it. I know it's almost brand new...
