    I have a version that I feel is from the 60's and its not the Beatles, nor Chubby Checker or Little Richard - and it may be a British group.

    Any ideas?

    Maybe Brian Poole and the Tremeloes, they had a big hit with it in the UK at the same time as the Beatles version.

    The Isley Brothers had the first big hit with the song. The original was by an obscure '50s R&B group called the TopNotes, but I doubt that is your version.
