    • Please help me translate these (in Cyrillic) :

      1. at the beginning of .... (e.g. I pay rent in advance at the beginning of the week/month)
      2. at the end of ... (e.g. I get paid at the end of each week/month)
      3. Diamonds are a girl's best friend. (N.B. - Please don't translate this literally as it is an English saying. I'm not sure if there's a Bulgarian equivalent for it.)

    • Is the word 'BCE' pronounced the same as 'CE' ?
    • What does the word 'БEC' means ?

    Thanks.
Yeap, I think that spring ( our deligent moderator ), has removed some of the offtopic from this thread

at the beginning of - в началото на ( I pay rent in advance at the beginning of the week/month - Предплатих си наема в началото на седмицата/месеца. )

at the end of - в края на ... (e.g. I get paid at the end of each week/month - Плащат ми в края на всяка седмица/месец)

Diamonds are a girl's best friend. - Диамантите са най-добрият приятел на жената ( I cannot remember if we have a common phrase for that, so the literate translation is OK, they'll understand what you mean ). Maybe you should use "Парите са най-добрият приятел на женатa - Money are a girl's best friend."

Is the word 'BCE' pronounced the same as 'CE - Hmmm there is no such word "ВСЕ" in bulgarian language.

What does the word 'БEC' means ? - It's БEЗ and it means "without"

There is a word "Все" and it means "constantly", "always", "all the time" etc... It's pronounced as "Vse" :P

Let me give you some examples:

    1. Все пак - it's an expression which means "Although" or "However"
    2. Той все ми повтаря едно и също нещо - He always repeats the same thing

However, we mostly use it in spoken language. When writing we mostly use "постоянно" or "винаги"

And yes, there is no such word as "Бес". We have words like "Бяс" ("rage" /"rabies") and "Без" ("without"). There might be some people in the Shope region who pronounce the word "Бяс" as "Бес" :]

I'm from the Shope region, and we are using БЕС instead of БЯС, but I'm quite sure that pier is not looking for that word

    Thanks folks.

It's the correctly spelled word,"Без", that I was enquiring about.
It's good that you mentioned the word "Бяс" (also pronounced as "Бес"). That way I can be aware of the phonetic similarities between different words of totally different meanings.

Well.... you should be aware that the things get even worse, when you consider the fact that some words have different meanings depending on where the stress is putted. For a example : в̀ълна ( the stress is on "ъ" ) means wool, and
вълн̀а ( the stress is on "a" ) means wave. And to make things even more complicated they are words spelled and spoken exactly the same, that have two or more meanings according to the context. For example "Коса" could mean hair, but could also mean scythe.

The good news is that such words are somewhat rare, so they are not going to be a big obstacle for you

Uhhhhh... I'll get equiped with the grammar of Petyr Pashov
I suggest we start with the female cuz it seems more clear and easy^^
Female gender generally becmoes in plural with the ending of "i".
    маса-маси
    чиния - чинии
    кухня - кухни
    жена- жени
Even the so-called exceptions which end in consonants also become in plural with"i"-ending:
    пролет- пролети
    радост -радости
    нощ-нощи
    вечер-вечери
    любов-любови
And I think that's for the female
    U got it?

    I'll give ya some words:

    майка
    дъщеря
    лъжица
    младост
    добродетел

    Come on
    Eins.. hier kommt die Sonne
    Zwei..hier kommt die Sonne
    Drei.. hier kommt die Sonne
    Vier
    Fünf
    Sechs
    Sieben..
    Acht..
    Neun.....
    Ich hab' keine Lust.

Well done. What about magnit, isn't that masculine and we're talking about feminine only as for now.
