    Hello,

I need help with some translations please (in Cyrillic).

1a. Did you get a letter from the courier service ?

1b. Have you received a letter from the courier service ?

    2. Your card will be delivered at home on the 9th. or 10th. July between 9am and 6pm.

    3. You will need to show a form of ID such as your passport or UK Driving Licence when you sign for the delivery.

4a. I can call the courier service for you to ask when your item will be delivered.

4b. Let me call the courier service to arrange for a delivery date and time.

    5. Will you be at home all day tomorrow?

    6. If you won't be at home, leave your passport or driving licence with me so that I can sign for the delivery on your behalf.

    Thanks.

    Hi guys,

How would you reply in Bulgarian (in Cyrillic) to decline an invitation (e.g. an invitation by friends asking to join them and have a drink)?

In English, we would say something along those lines :
    - Sorry, I can't tonight ... I've got things to do .... I'm busy
    - I'm not at home right now ... May be later I'll join you later (or next time).

    Cheers.

    - Съжалявам, не мога тази вечер. Имам неща да правя. Зает/а съм.

    - I'm not at home right now ... May be later I'll join you later (or next time).
    - Не съм в къщи в момента. Може би ще се присъединя по-късно (или следващия път)

Or siply: No, thanks --> Не, благодаря

    Hiya,

Who can give me the best translation (in Cyrillic) of this:

    DAWN (Meaning: ENLIGHTENED)

    You have a "sixth sense"
    Which gives you great insight;
    When issues are clouded,
    You can shed much light.
    Among those who know you,
    No one will refute
    That's your intuition
    Is truly acute.
    Because you are perceptive,
    With vision so clear,
    Enlightenment will follow you,
    Year after year.

    DAWN (Meaning: ENLIGHTENED)
    Просветление

    You have a "sixth sense"
    Ти имаш "шесто чувство"
    Which gives you great insight;
    което ти дава знак
    When issues are clouded,
    когато всичко е в мъгла
    You can shed much light.
    ти можеш да разпръснеш светлина
    Among those who know you,
    И сред тези,които те познават
    No one will refute
    никой няма да отрече
    That's your intuition
    че твоята интуиция
    Is truly acute.
    е особено изострена/силна
    Because you are perceptive,
    защото ти си толкова проницателен/проницателна*
    With vision so clear,
    с толкова ясен поглед
    Enlightenment will follow you,
    просветлението ще е с теб
    Year after year.
    години наред.

it isn't literal at all, sorry.Just it can't sound good in Bulgarian literally translated. For example clouded in Bulgarian is "zaoblacheno" but it sounds pretty weird and it isn't poetic. I doubt it's the best possible translation but I gave my best to sound so-so good

    * note : проницателен will be if it's for a male; проницателна is for a female

I understand it's difficult to translate a poem in a different language. Very often, in a poem, the meaning of the words are in a figurative sense. And a literal translation would certainly impoverish its authenticity.

I'm pretty sure you've figured out the meaning of the English sentences therein and you've translated them to the best of your abilities so that they sound poetic in Bulgarian too while keeping a certain degree of abstractness.

    Thanks for your effort.
