Exclamation a song to tell an old flame goodbye

my first serius relationship....possibly my first love, created an incredible friendship which has lasted many years. For the last couple months however, this "friend" has "needed space" because his new girlfriend thinks if we keep spending time together he'll leave her. (yea insecure and a half) well ....i just found out that apparantly they are now engaged! and he still wont reply to any of my attempts to get ahold of him. im coming to accept the fact that he apparantly wants me out of his life and i need to deal with it...but i need a song for it!
    please and thank you!
    p.s. i lean towards punk/alternative/indie

Your ex-lover is dead by stars. even though the song title is a little vulgar, this song is indie, soft and relate a lot to what you might be feeling. so give it a try

the best song for you is called "don't speak" by no doubt
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=welnlg3svTw

    "Don't Speak"

    You and me
    We used to be together
    Everyday together always
    I really feel
That I'm losing my best friend
    I can't believe
    This could be the end
It looks as though you're letting go
    And if it's real
Well I don't want to know

    Don't speak
I know just what you're saying
    So please stop explaining
Don't tell me cause it hurts
    Don't speak
    I know what you're thinking
    I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me cause it hurts

    Our memories
    Well, they can be inviting
    But some are altogether
    Mighty frightening
As we die, both you and I
With my head in my hands
    I sit and cry

    Don't speak
I know just what you're saying
    So please stop explaining
Don't tell me cause it hurts (no, no, no)
    Don't speak
    I know what you're thinking
    I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me cause it hurts

    It's all ending
I gotta stop pretending who we are...
You and me I can see us dying...are we?

    Don't speak
I know just what you're saying
    So please stop explaining
Don't tell me cause it hurts (no, no, no)
    Don't speak
    I know what you're thinking
    I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me cause it hurts
Don't tell me cause it hurts!
    I know what you're saying
    So please stop explaining

    Don't speak,
    don't speak,
    don't speak,
oh I know what you're thinking
And I don't need your reasons
    I know you're good,
    I know you're good,
    I know you're real good
Oh, la la la la la la La la la la la la
    Don't, Don't, uh-huh Hush, hush darlin'
    Hush, hush darlin' Hush, hush
don't tell me tell me cause it hurts
Hush, hush darlin' Hush, hush darlin'
Hush, hush don't tell me tell me cause it hurts

(Some of these Songs are Kind of "pop"py)

Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers : Keep Me In Your Thoughts
^"when you were little, did you think of leaving. How the one you chose to be with, would barely let you see 'em." asking someone to remember you. remembering the goodtimes, and how things aren't the same as they used to be - akwards conversations. hard to see them not in ur life.

    Audio Adrenalline : Goodbye
^a good song for friends & lovers. will always love the person. You kno everything will be okay without the person but its still hard to say goodbye. "you kno i wont forget you you kno i never could and when i said i loved you, you kno i meant for good. goodbye goodbye goodbye my old friend ------ we've reached the end" "

Saving Abel : Goodbye, So Long
"goodbye, so long. hope you enjoy it while it lasts, cause soon this world of ours is gone"

Alkaline Trio : Sorry About That
"we passed out in eachothers arms both admitting we never felt better never felt so warm" i think this song may be about taking advantage of someone.. but some parts would fit GREATTT. - "that we'd alread lost eachother both knew that the end was near" "hell knows where your heart would be today.. maybe with me."

Ronnie Day : Remember Me Right
song title pretty much explains it. memories and what not.. then having to let it all go. but evn though it happens you still want him to remember you right.

theres a few for you.! )

On one hand, he should tell her you're a friend and his new girlfriend should accept that and make an effort to join in in the conversations...

On the other hand you should stop seeming so pushy towards him to get to hang out with you all the time... I know I'd hate it.

I'd suggest a little Alex Turner for you. One of my favorite lyrics ever.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5AahFXSqz4

    Well the morning was complete
There was tears on the steering wheel dripping on the seat
    Several hours or several weeks
I'd have the cheek to say they're equally as bleak

It's the beginning of the end
The car went up the hill and disappeared around the bend
Ask anyone they'll tell you that it's these times that it tends
To start to break in half
    To start to fall apart
    Hold on to your heart

Do me a favour and break my nose
Do me a favour and tell me to go away
Do me a favour and stop asking questions

    As she walked away
    Well her shoes were untied
And the eyes were all red
You could see that we'd cried
And I watched and I waited until she was inside
Forcing a smile and waving goodbye

    Curiosity becomes a heavy load
    Too heavy to hold
    Too heavy to hold

    Curiosity becomes a heavy load
    Too heavy to hold
We'll force you to be cold

Do me a favour and ask if you need some help
She said do me a favour and stop flattering yourself
And to tear apart the ties that bind
Perhaps "**** off" might be too kind
Perhaps "**** off" might be too kind
