malek is an angel? Now it makes sense.But it is from the muslim culture,right???

It has got nothing to do with culture but everything with language. And because Arabic is the main language in Islam, Muslims also use it to refer to angel. Turks also use it. Other example is the word Šejtan for Devil.

Lol, I also translated 'Ptica Bijela' a few months ago. I also had trouble with 'meleci' I had never heard of it before, but luckily there's google :P
