No, it's neither Russian nor Ukrainian. The song is in Moldavian and it's called "Trust Me".
CREDE-MĂ
(Ион Алдя-Теодорович - Ш. Петраки)
Din depărtări, gonit de dor
Voi reveni, din nou la tine
Nu, nu mai vreau īn nopţile tārzii
Să mă gonească paşii pe cărări pustii.
Nu, nu mai vreau īn nopţile tārzii
Să mă gonească paşii pe cărări pustii.
Crede-mă, amore, crede-mă
De ţi-e dor amore scuză-mă, scuză.
Să uităm ce-a fost, ce ne a-ntristat
Tu amore cheamă-mă.
Să uităm ce-a fost, ce ne a-ntristat
Tu amore cheamă-mă.
Din depărtări, gonit de dor
Voi reveni, din nou la tine
Te rog să-mi spui, să-mi spui te-am aşteptat,
Chiar dac-ar fi să minţi, să-mi spui nu te-am uitat.
Te rog să-mi spui, să-mi spui te-am aşteptat,
Chiar dac-ar fi să minţi, să-mi spui nu te-am uitat.

Here's the translation in Russian (I presume you understand the language).
CREDE-MĂ
(Muzică: Ion Aldea-Teodorovici)
Trust me/ Believe me
Din depărtări, gonit de dor
From far aways ( or distances), driven away by longing
Voi reveni, din nou la tine
I will come back to you again
Nu, nu mai vreau īn nopţile tārzii
No, I don't want in late night
Să mă gonească paşii pe cărări pustii.
To be chased by the steps on lonely paths
Nu, nu mai vreau īn nopţile tārzii
No, I don't want in late night
Să mă gonească paşii pe cărări pustii.
To be chased by the steps on lonely paths
Crede-mă, amore, crede-mă
Believe me, amore (Italian version of "love", "my love"), believe me
De ţi-e dor amore scuză-mă, scuză.
If you miss me, amore forgive me, forgive
Să uităm ce-a fost, ce ne a-ntristat
Let's forget what was, what made us sad
Tu amore cheamă-mă.
You amore call me
Să uităm ce-a fost, ce ne a-ntristat
Let's forget what was, what made us sad
Tu amore cheamă-mă.
You amore call me
Din depărtări, gonit de dor
From far aways ( or distances), driven away by longing
Voi reveni, din nou la tine
I will come back to you again
Te rog să-mi spui, să-mi spui te-am aşteptat,
Tell me, please; tell me that 'I've been waiting for you'
Chiar dac-ar fi să minţi, să-mi spui nu te-am uitat.
Even if you had to lie, tell me 'I didn't forget you'
Te rog să-mi spui, să-mi spui te-am aşteptat,
Tell me, please; tell me that 'I've been waiting for you'
Chiar dac-ar fi să minţi, să-mi spui nu te-am uitat.
Even if you had to lie, tell me 'I didn't forget you'
Hope you'll like it I have tried to make it as close as possible to the original meaning.

Moldavian Language is actually Romanian And Romanian is one of those five Latin Languages: Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Romanian
Actually, Romanian has a LOT of Latin influence Different sources say from 60% to 80% of Latin influence.
P.S.: The difference between the name Moldovan and Romanian (which were supposed to be considered as two different ones) are ONLY political.

Selenity, thank you so much for the English translation!!! I had struggled to translate the Russian that Panselinos offered, but a couple of phrases were very difficult for me to understand.
Now I've learned to recognized just a few small words of Romanian, I'm not surprised that Romanian and Moldavan are the same language. And this is good, because it means I can learn two languages in one
Thanks again, and I'm really glad you found this 2-year-old thread!
