kohls song i heard

okay please help me before i have to camp out at kohls until i hear the song again. Its a fast song that goes something like, 'life is like a (something)" and it keeps repeating that phrase in the chorus. its a female singer. Not sure if kohl's has a repeating playlist but the song right after it was Ben Lee's "we're all in this together" then they played a Sade song.

Any clues to a song played at Kohl's, male vocalist, sort of pop/rock with maybe "last to know" and "throw it all away" in the lyrics?
