    Default "Promeny" cz=>en

Hi, I should be grateful if someone would translate the lyrics of "Promeny" into English (or Polish)

    "Proměny"

Darmo sa ty trápíš můj milý synečku,
nenosím já tebe, nenosím v srdéčku,
přece tvoja nebudu, ani jednu hodinu..

Copak sobě myslíš má milá panenko,
vždyť ty jsi to moje rozmilé srdénko
a ty musíš býti má, lebo mi tě Pán Bůh dá..

A já sa udělám malú veveričkú
a já ti uskočím z dubu na jedličku,
přece tvoja nebudu, ani jednu hodinu..

A já chovám doma takú sekérečku,
ona mi podetne dúbek i jedličku
a ty musíš býti má, lebo mi tě Pán Bůh dá..

A já sa udělám tú malú rybičkú
a já ti uplynu preč po Dunajíčku,
přece tvoja nebudu, ani jednu hodinu..

A já chovám doma takovú udičku,
co na ni ulovím kdejakú rybičku
a ty přece budeš má, lebo mi tě Pán Bůh dá..

A já sa udělám tú velikú vranú
a já ti uletím na Uherskú stranu,
přece tvoja nebudu, ani jednu hodinu..

A já chovám doma starodávnú kušu,
co ona vystřelí všeckým vranám dušu
a ty musíš býti má, lebo mi tě Pán Bůh dá..

A já sa udělám hvězdičkú na nebi
a já budu lidem svítiti na nebi,
přece tvoja nebudu, ani jednu hodinu..

A sú u nás doma takoví hvězdáři,
    co vypočítajú hvězdičky na nebi
a ty musíš býti má, lebo mi tě Pán Bůh dá..
a ty musíš býti má, lebo mi tě Pán Bůh dá..

Noone feels like translating this - ok, I can already figure out what the song is all about as almost all words are more or less similar to Polish :P

Default I can translate the song ^^

Hello, I can translate the song. I'll translate just the meaning, I'm no kind of artist to make it rhyme, sorry Plus its not standart czech, but one of its dialects. Two people sing the song, they change every stanza, the girl starts with the first.

    "Changes"

You greive in vain, my son,
I dont hold you, dont hold you dear in my heart,
surely I won't be yours, not even for one hour..

Why do you think so, my dear maid,
    sure you're my bonny heart
and you must be mine or the Lord God will give you to me..

And I'll change into a small squirrel
and I'll jump from an oak to a pine from you,
sure I won't be yours, not even for one hour..

And I keep such a small hatchet at home,
it will chop down the oak and also the pine for me
and you must be mine or the Lord God will give you to me..

And I'll change into a small fish
and I will swim away in Danube,
sure I won't be yours, not even for one hour..

And I keep such a fish hook at home
at which I catch all kind of fish
and you sure will be mine or the Lord God will give you to me..

And I'll change into a big rook
and I'll fly away to Hungary of you
sure I won't be yours, not even for one hour..

And I keep such an ancient crossbow at home
    which shoots all rooks dead
and you must be mine or the Lord God will give you to me..

And I'll change into a star on the sky
and I'll shine for people there on the sky
sure I won't be yours, not even for one hour..

And there are such astronomers at ours home
which can count all the stars on the sky
and you must be mine or the Lord God will give you to me..
and you must be mine or the Lord God will give you to me..

Thank thee^^ I didn't know it is non-standard Czech, but this dialect sure is more similar to Polish than standard Czech, but... I would never guess that "promeny" means "changes"; I thought it means "rays" ("promienie" in Polish), but now that I know what it means I can see the resemblance to the Polish word "przemiany"
