    Cool Blues Brothers Theme

    Hello again people,

Tis time I'll get right to the point. I am looking for the song that is always accociated with the Blues Brothers. I don't believe iot has any lyrics but it starts off with a fast tempo and trumpets. Specifically, it was the song used to introduce the Blues Brothers in the last "gig" in the movie, "The Blues Brothers" (the immediate song after Minnie the Moocher). I cannot find the title and I don't think it is on the soundtrack.

If you don't know what I am talking about just say so and I can probably think of some more details.

either respond to this or e-mail me at spongebobpj@yahoo.com

    Thanks in advance,

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it's "SOUL MAN"

Comin' to ya on a dusty road
Good lovin', I got a truckload
And when you get it, you got something
So don't worry, 'cause I'm comin'

    (CHORUS):
    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man

Got what I got the hard way
And I'll make it better each and every day
    So honey, don't you fret
'Cause you ain't seen nothin' yet

    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man
    Play it Steve
    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man

    Listen
I was brought up on a side street
I learned how to love before I could eat
I was educated, from good stock
When I start lovin' I just can't stop

    (CHORUS)

We'll grab the rope and I'll pull you in
Give you hope and be your only boyfriend
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man
    You're a soul man
    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man
    I'm a soul man

    No, Thanks though.

(That is a good song though).
I'm pretty sure my song has no lyrics it starts off with some medium brass playing four notes, then some higher trumpets repeat it. It is a very upbeat song with a fast tempo and is under a minute long (at least the portion they use in the movie). For those of you that have the movie (original), the band playes it when they introduce the Blues Brothers in their last preformance (with the police in the audience, right after Minnie the Moocher {near the end of the movie}). For those of you that don't have the movie, ignore the previous sentence.

To the best of my knowledge, the song was made specifically for the movie.

I'll try and search more, keep trying everyone.

    Thanks in advance,

"everybody needs somebody to love"? its an upbeat song, and elwood talks in the beginning after it starts. i'm pretty sure its their first "gig" song in the movie. i think. and its on the soundtrack.

It's called 'Can't Turn Me Loose' or something that effect. You do mean the instrumental-type intro thing?

Edit: 'Can't Turn You Loose' my mistake.
