Solved: Old German Song

This is driving me crazy fo rover 15 years... My mother (German) used to sing/hum a song that has stuck in my mind, mostly, because it was so beautiful...My german is really, really bad...but I would like to find the Artist of the song.

The lyrics are ( and please, I haven't written german for about 20 years ok? ):

There..my german SUCKS..ok. Last time I heard the actual song, was 1980, on a single LP.

Reinhard Mey used to be very very famous german songwriter in the 70ies and early 80ies. Nowadays you don´t hear much about him, but he gives regularly concerts and his name and music is still well known.
