Talking Solved: driving myself crazy with this very old song....

Hello, I've had this song in my head for like two months... I've asked just about everyone i know.... My grandma, my uncles, aunts :P

Now this is a very old song, i'm thinking 50's ... prolly around the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin era.

    and it's a slow song

has like .... my heart sings such a saaaad song... la da dee .... la da dee.... la da da...

or something like that... but the la da dee ... la da dee ... la da daa.... is right....

and it's about the only thing i can remember ....

It would be Awesome if anyone can figure out this ultimate question for me :P...

Sorry if i'm not much help lol

I was told it was "when your young at heart"... by dean martin... or frank sinatra... but i looked into it and it's not it.... .... every time i hummed the beat... my uncle got "that's amore" out of it... hahaha.... but i definitely know that's not it either....

but mix the two together and it's pretty close to the beat of the song ...hahaha...

pretty sure it's a deep voiced guy singing it.... i thought it was Frank Sinatra... but i can't seem to find it....

    Otis Redding maybe?
    Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song)

    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa

I keep singing them sad sad songs, y'all
Sad songs is all I know
I keep singing them sad sad songs, y'all
Sad songs is all I know

It has a sweet melody tonight
Anybody can sing it any old time
    I touches your heart
    Puts you in a groove
And when you sing this song
It'll make your whole body move

    It goes -
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa
    Your turn -
    My turn
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa
    Your turn now -

All my life I've been singin' sad songs
Tryin' to get my message to you, honey
But that's the only song, y'all
    I can sing
And when I get through singin'
My message will be to you

    It goes -
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa
    Your turn now

    It's a lovely song, y'all
    Sweet music, honey
It's just a line, oh but
    It tells a story, baby
You got to get the message
    A stone message, honey
    A lovely line, baby
I'm worried in mind, watch me

    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa
    Your turn -
    Everybody's turn, everybody -
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa
    One more time
    Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa
    Worried in mind, y'all...

no.. it's not Otis Redding... or that song... he's a little too motown too...

this song i'm looking for is a typical old slow song that like my grandmother would humm or even maybe great grandmother... like 50's or earlier... i personally thought it was Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra maybe even Gene Kelly... but i haven't come across it yet...

    ..the hunt continues..

You mentioned earlier that it has the same beat as "The French song " , I've looked that one up and found out it has English versions as well , but I can't find them!

You think it's possible that you heard such an English rendition?
Also I like to know wether the song you are looking for was a well known one , or rather obscure?

Further I've got to say that I cannot find ANY match with the lyrics , no sad heart , nor the la de de..

Gonna be "educated "guesses from now on..starting with the following:

ya well i've googled la da dee and the sad song part and came up with nothing too ... been trying for months ... those educated guesses weren't it either ... I'm pretty sure that it's well known enough... cause the many people i hummed it too .... recognized it... but couldn't pin point it.... I'm pretty sure i heard it on the radio at one point in the last few months cause it just got stuck in my head .... and i couldn't get it out :P... now as for the "french Song".... i have recently found a english version... song random guy blogged it... and it wasn't it...

my uncle seemed to believe it was a woman who sings it... like Doris Day

so maybe i'm just looking in the wrong direction completely...

but i don't know the lyrics.. so the sad song is prolly wrong....

it's a slow love song.. with the la da dee la da daa....

almost 90 percent sure .... the la da dee is in the chorus and the very last words he sings at the end....

la da dee.....(pause) la da dee.....(pause) la da daaaaaaaaa......(or Daaaaaaaay)

ok well if you go to like 1:28 of this show tune... it gives a very good example.... like if we can find the similar song

ROFL , way to go there , so now it might be a woman singing..

There's a C&W song called "Sing a Sad Song" by George Jones and numerous other artists but I did not find a show tune version.
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

La Vie en Rose and\or Fascination by Dean Martin \ Nat King Cole ... are close.... this is really frustrating.. maybe i'm just mixing two songs in one beat... cause everything is now starting to sound familiar .... lol... or a lot of older songs sound the same :P..... not like my young age helps and don't listen to classics like this very often....

how frustrating...Maybe i should just record what i'm humming :P... be a new hit ...hahaha
