It looks like you gonna have to do the humming thing and post it here..

As you said , the songs more or less sound alike , and we'll be guessing forever..

There is no way on this Earth that it's that song...

Cole Porter - I've Got you Under My Skin
Ive got you under my skin
Ive got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart, that youre really a part of me
Ive got you under my skin

Ive tried so not to give in
Ive said to myself this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist, when baby will I know than well
That Ive got you under my skin

Id sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats, repeats in my ear

Dont you know you fool, you never can win
Use your mentality, wake up to reality
But each time I do, just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
cause Ive got you under my skin

    Lefrkrys: Is it

A song of love is a sad song, high Lily, high lily, high low.
A song of love is a song of woe, don't ask me how I know.

Leslie Carron from (I think) Daddy Long Legs.

Glad to be of help. Stumbled accross this place by accident, and knew what you were 'humming' straight away (I thought). The film it came from is Lilly it would seem.
Saw the version you put up - didn't even know Richard Chamberlain could sing.

Now I know where to come when I'm stuck for a song that's driving me mad, and I can't find.
