80's male singer/band need to identify!!

hi... recently saw on magic tv an 80's music video of a guy (guessing english) turning up at an old stately home...in a vintage car or taxi and proceeding to sing inside it-very moody and obv 80's! hes blonde, pretty looking and singing a heartfelt kinda chessy but cool song...cannot even remember 1 lyric...the video ends with him getting back into the waiting car/taxi which is waiting on a gravel drive near some trees!!!!
i know its a long shot but can anyone give a suggestion...anything???

Blonde, good-looking... could it be David Sylvain? He was the frontman of a band called Japan and he also had some solo stuff.
