i i cant remember much of the lyrics, but i think one is "can he really listen to the darkness of the night" also "roads that i have traveled." not sure of artist or name.

I strongly sususpect that this is "Kyrie" by Mister Mister, the lines you quote actually being:
Kyrie Eleison Down the road that I must travel"
and
"Kyrie Eleison Through the darkness of the night"
