But his grandfather took his hand, closed the gate and led him back home.
Pierino was just a little far and suddenly a big grey wolf came out of the forest.

All of a sudden the cat climbed up the tree.
The terrified duck flutterd and stupidly jumped onto the bank.
She began to run with all her strength but a duck can’t run faster than a wolf.
The wolf was getting nearer and nearer and got to her, that’s it!
He caught her and ate her up.
    Poor thing!
Now I tell you what was happening:
the cat was lying on a branch.
The bird perched on another branch, not so near the cat of course.
The wolf was walking around the tree and was looking at them greedily.
Meanwhile Pierino was behind the gate fearlessly looking at what was happening.

He ran home, took a strong rope and climbed up the high stone wall.
One of the branches, around which the wolf was walking, stretched out beyond the wall.
Pierino caught the branch and managed to climb it, now he was on the tree.
and then said to the bird:
fly down, start flying over the wolf's nose!.
Pay attention, don't let him catch you!

The bird was almost touching the wolf's nose with its wings while the wolf was opening his mouth and trying to catch him by swiftly jumping up and down.
Oh my goodness, they made him really furious!
Guys, he really wanted to catch him, but the bird was smarter than the fierce animal and kept on playing its game.
Meanwhile Pierino tied a slipknot and cautiously let it down the tree.
Wow, he managed to thread the slipknot around the wolf's tail and strongly pulled the rope.
Now the wolf was caught in the trap and furiously started jumping because he wanted to free oneself.
But Pierino resisted, fastened the other side of the rope around the tree and the more the wolf kept on jumping the more the slipknot became tighter.
Then the hunters came out of the forest, chasing the wolf's tracks and shooting as they walked by.

    3rd part:

Stop shooting!, Pierino said, still sitting on the tree.
The bird and I have already caught the wolf!
Do help us take him to the zoo, instead!
Then, just imagine what a triumphal march!
Pierino was in the lead, behind were the hunters dragging the wolf.
The grandfather and the cat brought up the rear (at the back of the group).
The grandfather shook his head and went on grumbling: '' What if Pierino didn't manage to catch the wolf?''.
The birdie, cheerfully chirping, was flying over them: Pierino and I are really brave! look, we got the wolf!!!''

If you had carefully listened to this story, you would have heard the duck repeatedly quacking in the wolf's belly; in a hurry he was so stupid that swallowed her alive!

    THE END!
