    Yemen senin çölün kumdan
    Ne istedin yar yar yavrumdan
    Ne yolun ne iz bilirim
    Hemen yavrumu özlerim

    Oy Yemen soyha Yemen
Bülbül ötmez yar yar gülüm çemen
    Gelinim hasta yatıyor
Üç yetimle yar yar ben neydem
    Yiğidim canın veriyor
Üç yetimle yar yar ben neydem

    Şu Yemende zalim paşa
Kuzgun gibi yar yar döner başa
    Param yok ki bedel verim
    Hemen yavrumu özlerim

    Thanks in advance!

    Yemen senin çölün kumdan
Yemen your desert is made of sand
    Ne istedin yar yar yavrumdan
What did you want from my son
    Ne yolun ne iz bilirim
I don't know your way or your sign
    Hemen yavrumu özlerim
I am just missing my son

    Oy Yemen soyha Yemen
    O Yemen damn Yemen
Bülbül ötmez yar yar gülüm çemen
Nightingale doesn't sing, friend, my rose is grass
    Gelinim hasta yatıyor
    My bride is lying sick
Üç yetimle yar yar ben neydem
What should I do, friend, with three orphans
    Yiğidim canın veriyor
    My youngster is dying
Üç yetimle yar yar ben neydem
What should I do, friend, with three orphans

    Şu Yemende zalim paşa
In Yemen there is a ruthless pasha
Kuzgun gibi yar yar döner başa
Like a raven, friend, he turns around the heads
    Param yok ki bedel verim
I have no money to compensate
    Hemen yavrumu özlerim
I am just missing my son

I think lyrics aren't implied lyrics. The true was

havada bulut yok, bu ne dumandır?
mahlede ölü yok, bu ne şivandır?
ana ben ölmedim bu ne figandır?

    ano yemendir, gülü çemendir
    giden gelmiyor, acep nedendir?

    burası muştur, yolu yokuştur
    giden gelmiyor, acep ne iştir

    kışlanın ardında, redif sesi var;
    bakın çantasına acep nesi var?
bir çift kundurası, bir al fesi var!

    ano yemendir, gülü çemendir
    giden gelmiyor, acep nedendir?

    burası muştur, yolu yokuştur
    giden gelmiyor, acep ne iştir

The war of Yemen has so strict memories among the Anatolian people, because that war lasted for almost 10 years and so many beloved ones are died in this dramatic war. That's why one can find many folk songs remarking the Yemen incident, the ones that are mentioned here are only two of them, and all of them can be called as Yemen Türküsü..

    Here is the second translation:

havada bulut yok, bu ne dumandır?
There are no clouds on air, why is this smog?
mahlede ölü yok, bu ne şivandır?
There are no deceased in neighborhood, why is this outcry?
ana ben ölmedim bu ne figandır?
Mum, I haven't died yet, why is this groan?

    ano yemendir, gülü çemendir
This is Yemen, its rose is grass
    giden gelmiyor, acep nedendir?
Whoever goes there does not return back, I wonder why?

    burası m(H)uştur, yolu yokuştur
This is Mush(Hush)*,its road is uphill
    giden gelmiyor, acep ne iştir
Whoever goes there does not return back, I wonder why?

    kışlanın ardında, redif sesi var;
Behind the quarters, there is the voice of draftsmen(=reinforcement troops)
    bakın çantasına acep nesi var?
Look inside his haversack, what he has?
bir çift kundurası, bir al fesi var!
He has a couple of clogs, and a red fez**

    ano yemendir, gülü çemendir
This is Yemen, its rose is grass
    giden gelmiyor, acep nedendir?
Whoever goes there does not return back, I wonder why?

    burası m(H)uştur, yolu yokuştur
This is Mush(Hush)*,its road is uphill
    giden gelmiyor, acep ne iştir
Whoever goes there does not return back, I wonder why?

*There is a conflict on this word, whether it is originally Muş or Hush.
Hush was assumed to be the name of a castle held by Turkish troops in Yemen War.It was between cities of Sane and Taiz.
And Muş is the city where these lyrics are assumed to be first chanted.

It's not Hush. Hush may be near to Yemen and Mus is far from Yemen but we musn't forget this : Canakkale Turkusu is belong to Kastamonu Region

    Anyway, congratulations for translation

These lyrics are anonymous. The originators of the songs are not known. But i can tell you the compilers only. The first one is compiled by Ali Yavuz, and the second is by Düriye Keskin.

Here are another Lyrics regarding the Yemen Incident, this is compiled by Ali Asker

Kara çadır is mi tutar / Does black canvas get sooted
Martin tüfek pas mı tutar /Does "martin" rifle get rusted
Ağlayalım anam bacım / Mother and sister are the only ones to cry,
Elin kızı yas mı tutar / Does the daughter of a stranger mourn for you?

Gitme Yemen'e Yemen'e / Do not go to Yemen
Yemen sıcak dayanaman /It is so hot, you can't stand
Tan borusu er vurulur / The reveille whistles so early
Sen küçüksün uyanaman / You are a little boy, you can't wake

Yemen yolu çukurdandır /The road to Yemen is full of trenches
Karavana bakırdandır / Soldier's food is in copper plates
Zenginimiz bedel verir / Our riches do give the money
Askerimiz fakirdendir / Our soldier is of the poor

Gitme Yemen'e Yemen'e / Do not go to Yemen
Karışı'n toza dumana / You may vanish within dust and smog.
Mektubunu sal kardaşım / Send me your letters, my brother
Bacını koyma gümana / Do not put your sister in sorrow

Tarlalarda biter kamış / Sugarcane grows in the fields.
Uzar gider vermez yemiş / It gets tall but doesn't make fruit.
şol Yemen'de can verenler / The ones who are dying in Yemen are
Biri Memet biri Memiş / One is Mehmet, the other is Memish

p.s. i would be glad if you can send me an english translation of your above mentioned article. thanks

I apologize to you on my own and on behalf of every arab honest burned from this humiliation, I apologize to you for the great Arab revolution against your state - our state (othmanayyat state) , I apologize to you for our first bullet which is before we aim it to your chests ; went through our chests.
I apologize to you for our madness and traitory and REDDAT (kufur) , we dont know that we will be after you ; like orphans in hand of merciless butchers ...

(here is a very difficult line which only arab can understand it ....so leave it )

I apologize to you Erdogan for every Turkish drop of blood shed on the land of the Arabs, its written on us since we killed AL Hussein (grandson of of RASOOL ALLAH ) that we will slaughter every one comes to help us , and since your blood shed on the land of the Arabs and this land is no longer for them.

I apologize to you for the tears of Turkish mothers who we killed thier children , we dont know that our mothers will shed the tears for long years and years ....

(then this poem- song yemen which is mentioned by just turkish poet )

    --------------------------------------------------------------

its too long artical to translate it all , i wish to complete it later if you like it ,and i wish if i did it in good way ...any how remaining a senstive information regarding the people who lead the the revoluation againest turkish and he told they are agents of British with some profes.

    Thanks a lot brothers.
I enjoyed reading these articles. After all we are all muslim brothers Turks and Arabs.
We are still having a lot of Hijazi families of Turkish origins living among us as brothers.

I enjoyed reading your threads and I enjoyed the poetry a lot.
I wonder if there is similar Turkish poetry and songs related to Hijaz (Hicaz) specially Medine and Fehri Pasa heroc resistance.
I believe Sebete and Gamer1907 will have some enrichment to this topic.
    Thanks in advance.

"TRT repertuar dairesinden türkünün orijinal metnini istediğimde bana şunu gönderdiler :

    HAVADA BULUT YOK

As a summary there are many sayings about the original lyrics of this song and the TRT ( official Turkish Radio Television corporation) says the original lyrics are as above.
i found it while i was googling afew months ago.
