Well I admit too that when I talk with Greeks and I'm too bored to change my keyboard I use w indead of ω.

P.S. Before I wanted to say 'I think you know Greek' but I guess I was so hungry and I ate the 'Greek' word.

    Hi!
Thanks a lot for your help.
I tried to find the words in the dictionary but I couldn't.
These latin letters make me confused.
How do you spell EFOME in Greek?
    Thanks again.

    It's "efHome" (ефхоме), not "efome".

Hello again i have a text from a novel "Λόγια της πλώρης" - Ανδρέας Καρκαβίτσας... i know the words but i don't get the sense... i have 2 things that i don't understand

    1. Ἡ θάλασσα δὲν ἔχει πιὰ ψωμί. Ἂς εἶχα ἕνα κλῆμα στὴ στεριὰ καὶ μαύρη πέτρα νὰ ρίξω πίσω μου (what he was trying to say?)

    2. Ἡ ἀλήθεια εἶναι πὼς πολλοί τους ὄχι κλῆμα, ἀλλὰ νησὶ ὁλάκερο μποροῦσαν ν᾿ ἀποκτήσουν μὲ τὰ χρήματά τους. (the first part before , i only understand "the truth is how a lot them no vine" , it doesn't make sense)

    Can you help me?

Karkavitsas? Great. This is from the short story "The Sea", right?

1 ... όταν κάθιζαν στον καφενέ να ρουφήξουν το ναργιλέ, κουνούσαν το κεφάλι και στενάζοντας έλεγαν:
    - Η θάλασσα δεν έχει πια ψωμί. Ας είχα ένα κλήμα στη στεριά και μαύρη πέτρα να ρίξω πίσω μου.

...whenever they took their seats in the coffee-house to smoke hookah pipes (nargile), would shook their heads sadly and say with a sigh:
"There's no more bread to be gained from the sea. Let me have just a root of vine on the solid earth and I would throw a black stone behind me*."

    * The idiom "to throw a black stone behind o's back" is used when you leave some place (or life situation) where you only had disappointments and negative experiences, i.e. you throw a black stone behind you. In other words: you leave it behind for good, you burn your bridges. =)

Or "The sea is no source of livelihood anymore. If only I had a vine on solid earth, I'd chuck the sea."

    2. Η αλήθεια είναι πώς πολλοί τους όχι κλήμα, άλλα νησί ολάκερο μπορούσαν ν' αποχτήσουν με τα χρήματά τους.

Of course it makes sense. :Р

"The truth was that many of them had money enough to own not only a vine but a whole island."

Or literally: "The truth is that many of them could own not a vine, but a whole island with their money."

I hope this makes it more clear.

Honestly, these sentences sound weird in Greek... they don't make sense... they could mean something like:
Εγώ πονώ για σένα=I suffer for you
Τίποτα (σου) λέω, αλλά ένας βάρεσε καρδιά=I'm telling you it's nothing, but someone hit the heart (???)
Δε χωράς. Γιατί;=You don't fit. Why?

I must tell you again that I'm not sure if that's the right translation, at least I tried.
Άνθρωποι τύχης είδωλον επλάσαντο, πρόφασιν ιδίης αβουλίης.
