Hello I would like to get some ancient greek quotes for a tattoo but a cant really find anything on internet.

I have some like: "Failure is nothing but one step towards victory" or "The energy of the mind is the essence of life", but i need them written in original ancient greek or at least in the modern, and not really long as well.

    Thank you

If there's a copy in PURE Ancient Greek then you must find it in Rome, in Vatican's library.

Now if you want the "Ancient Greek" that you can find in the books, according to this -> https://books.google.gr/books?id=TCV...%CF%82&f=false

at the end of page 249 it says:

"ἡ γὰρ νοῦ ἐνέργεια ζωή, ἐκεῖνος δὲ ἡ ἐνέργεια"

    which is your second quote....
If you want it shorter you can use the first part which means "Life is mind's energy"
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

Of course, it's the lyric no 630 in the following link -> https://books.google.gr/books?id=Es8...%CF%85&f=false

"ἐν γὰρ χερσὶ τέλος πολέμου, ἐπέων δ᾽ ἐνὶ βουλῇ"
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"

Perfect! But the quote is a little long, is it possible to short it a little?
    Thanks again!
