Default Russian Lyrics Needed: Red Army Choir - The Cossacks

I tried to find those lyrics eagerly (almost crazily) but never managed to find them. There is another song "The Cossack's Song" but don't confuse with this. The lyrics that i search belongs to "The Cossacks".

Link to The Cossacks, for those who know russian:

    Thank you very much.

Let's try something different with some foreign languages it helps to post even lyric requests in the translations sub-forums because the people who know the language rarely look at the threads here ... so let me move it and see what happens good luck!

Thanks Steena. I really tried every combination in searching but there was always no result in the end so it's now a "listen and write down" challenge. I'm going to learn russian (not for this song of course ), i hope somebody sees this thread and finally writes them down before i make it.

Not a perfect quality of the recording.
BTW, I've found some different version (perhaps initial one) of this song on the Internet. However, I put down what corresponds to the link provided. Here you are:

Aussie, thanks for your effort but there is a problem. Lyrics must be true but I can't read them because fonts are not clear. I never had any problem about cyrillic fonts so problem can't be related to cyrillic font. I don't know if you can see as I see them but lyrics are seen as "Êàçàêè, äà êàçàêè, àé äà êàçà÷åíü&# 234;è" or "Ïðîåçæàë& #232; ïîóòðó ñåëà-äåðåâåíü&# 234;è".

If you revise and re-forward them, I'll really appreciate it.

    Thank you again.

Maybe you and Aussie solved this already, but if not, you can quick-view the font correctly if (for Internet Explorer) you right-click on a neutral spot and select Encoding > {more} > Cyrillic (Windows). Or in Firefox it's View > Character Encoding ....

But that probably won't help for Copy & Paste. I always get the same illegible font display.

This also happens sometimes with other posts. I can't find any easy remedies in the FAQ, but maybe there's something in one of the Stickies. I'll take a look. It would be nice to have an easy answer for everybody whenever this happens

If I change the encoding from one that gives correct representation of cyrillic font I can see something similar to what you've posted. I use Opera and in order to change encoding I click on View > Encoding > Cyrillic > Windows-1251. That gives me clear view of cyrillic characters. As I understand the problem this is an issue with your web browser preferences rather than wrong font.

I can read all other posts in Cyrillic Russian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, etc, all over this forum. There are only 2 other posts (both by the same person) that I couldn't read without changing the viewing font. Maybe my setting isn't perfect for all cases, but as I said, it's only been a problem in 2 other posts...

I wish to thank you all!

Aussie, your lyrics wasn't the errored one, my language settings was, as you and jandros guessed. That's done.

s_jazz, I couldn't able to check-back this thread for 12-13 days, now finally saw all these posts and also yours. Thank you for translation and your consideration.

About language settings, "I feel your pain" ... it took me several attempts to find the right setting, for most cases. Glad to hear about your success

    The Cossacks

Cossacks, oh cossacks, oh yes the cossacks
passed by in the morning a small village
passed by in the morning a small village
the girls went out with cheerful cossacks
they passed by in the morning a small village
the girls went out with cheerful cossacks
Cossacks, oh cossacks, we're asking of you to come to our humble home
    we're inviting you, red soldiers!
Be our guests, we haven't seen each other for long
twenty years we have been waiting for you, finally we met!
Be our guests, we haven't seen each other for long
twenty years we've been waiting for you, finally se met!
ANd the cossacks, yes the cossacks dashingly replied:
"Today we're going to the battle, the horses are not tired
we're going to the battle today, our cavalry swords are sharp
we will be back, girls, dear sisters!
