    hi!
hope u can translate these songs into english, tnx

    oh passion

    lost between this and that
    they said you're like this
you've never heard my calling, do you hear passion
they told stories about you, the said you you hurt us and cured us
what do you intend to do, oh passion releive me

lovers has been talking about you for years
tell him, oh passion your whispers are full of passion and longing
the tan brought me fire, and with the passion has thrown me
oh passion, and with one look, his passion changed my time

i said aboout him once, it was full of sour or joyfull
oh my passion, your companionship was the prettiest i've ever had
filling the eye (indicating satisfaction) once, it was full of sour and joyfull
oh my passion, your companionship was the prettiest i've ever had

oh passion do still temember that pretty
her pretty laugh is still on my mind
what do you think passion, would we meet again in this life
i'm waiting for her as long as the earth is rounded
since you're gone, the sun has hided away from me
i call her every day, but hear it as whisper
and she's gone, she's gone, would she come back
please my heart stop waiting for her to come back
what is the use of blaming or crying
don't take my salute or my the words
she's gone, she's gone and the past has gone
how hard the truth is, oh hurt and drug

    Enjoy

    life is beautiful

life became beautiful since you live in my days
hours are beautifull since i saw you infront of me

and my age (life) is getting prettier as you're in it
you became the prettiest in my eyes
and my heart beat turned to singing and my heart to be jealous
jealous from the smile on your lips
from the hair hanging down onto your shoulders
from the bird, my heat had seen you, sung and flew away

i loved you, i loved the flower
    and the tit
and a start appeard, and my mother returned to telling me news
and sing to me to sleep
    and winter had become warm
and i hear beside the house, a sound of little childern

oh moon you're away from my eyes
by the eyes of the heart we see you, we wish you are in hands (close to us)
your letter left a trance on my hand

The hours of pain have yielded good,
    Which prosperous days refused;
As herbs, though scentless when entire,
    Spread fragrance when they’re bruised.

OK! That helps I am always messing up my m/f and my tenses

Is this the same if you want to tell someone "delicious" as in delicious meal? If your hostess is female?

****I LOVE MARWAN khoury! I've been listening to him all night.
What is your favorite by him?

[QUOTE=sohuda;673603]yes it is the same with "taybe"
Okay! That makes sense! Biggest problem I've always had--in my job--always dealt mostly with males. Males talking to each other, etc. And because I'm American, only spoke to me in English. And songs. Which seem to mostly be sung like m to m. (Habibi instead of habibti?) Wonder why that is?
All the books to learn Arabic are all in classical or Egyptian dialect. I do find some things on the web now with Leb dialect, but Palestinian is almost impossible to find. Mostly, as a journalist, I've dealt with Palis. Here (near Tampa, Fl), we have a large Palestinian community. They are good people. Tayyib/Taybe.

    YES!!!!
    I love Ya Rab!!!
    My very fav:
    El Bent El Lebnaneye
    Asr El Sho (?)
    Lail Mbareh
    Awlak
    Danta Waheshny (means?)
Oh heck! there's nothing I've heard him sing I don't like!
****I just got a bunch of his songs on my computer!!!
    I have now:
-kel el 2sayed = كل القصايد
but haven't been able to listen yet
    I don't have these:
    2aser el shaw2 =قصر الشوق
-khayef la trou7i (my fav.)

****I'm going to try and find them

And Tamar Hosny!!!! (Mashallah! Oh my!)
I just got a whole bunch of his songs!
    Soutek - OMG!!!
    Any recommends there?
Also Wael Khoury (hubba!) Don't kill me if he's your favorite, but I don't quite like his voice as well. But his youtube videos are nice to look at
Mostly I had listened to Ragheeb, Azar Habib etc when over there (1980s).

Also Wael Khoury (hubba!) Don't kill me if he's your favorite, but I don't quite like his voice as well. But his youtube videos are nice to look at
Mostly I had listened to Ragheeb, Azar Habib etc when over there (1980s).
people are good would be "taybeen" coz it's plural!

Yes!!! Aiwa, na'am, etc!!!! Send any links. I can even send you my email address. I am a huge music fan--used to write for (American) music mags Hit Parade and Player. I adore anything from the Beatles, Azar Habib to System of the Down... I can be kind of a head-banger and I confess: Tarkan. I know (sigh). He's kind of "Backstreet Boys" and all that. And he's Turkish... And I've only been letting myself listen to Arabic right now so I can learn. Love Pali folk music.
"dreamer" on this forum, just turned me on to Fares Karam. I had heard him, but never a lot. I love his energy! I'm kind of chained to the keyboard here for about 10 hours a day so any new music helps my soul (rouh?) ***I would die for his new CD. Can't find it anywhere over here
Also like Ahmed Soultan--his bluesy stuff like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxoKD...22C9F3&index=2
    (Algerian or something?)
I'd heard about half of what you sent, but not the videos--english translations--whoopee!
Usually, I've found that Asr El Sho is a great Arabic song to turn on America friends to Arabic music. They find it completely seductive My oldest son has his degree in Music, and he finds Arabic singers (and musicians) almost flawless. He's very critical too. I just like what I like
****Ibrahim El Hakimi, he thought was one of the best tenors he'd ever heard (in pop music). I wish I could find more by him to download

Yes! "taybeen". The tenses... I forget, and m/f. I know just enough to be dangerous and get myself in trouble
    Anyhow, Shukran Sohuda!
