Fake Plastic Trees (Radiohead)

Hey is there anyone else out there that really loves this song by radiohead??

And what do you reckon the lyrics are all about??

Yeah maybe, it could be jams002 but i tend to think of it as a storey of a town full of fake people and and someone trying to break free of it all and to find the true feeling of love...

Its about how fake/plastic/materialistic today's society has become.

Verse 1 is about a girl who is surrounded by everything fake (his analogy being fake plants). People, television, advertising, etc. isn't real. The girl is a surveyor of the world turning plastic and she doesn't like it.

Verse 2 is about someone who is actually a part of the faking of America. He is a plastic surgeon who see's what he does as useless and fake.

Verse 3 is when the singer experiences what he thinks is love and a meaningful relationship but finds out that it all wasn't real. That so much of relationships and so called love is just imitations from pop culture/movies. He wished that he could change to be this perfect replication of love that his significant other wants him to be but its impossible because it would be fake.

All of this acting and plastic that is life nowadays is tiring and stupid.

Yeah I love this song. It's about how they world is turning fake, and very little is real.
