    An Cailin Deas Rua

Nach doiligh domhsa mo chailin a mholadh
‘S ni he amhain mar bhi si rua
Bhi si mar gath greine a dhul in eadan na gloinne
is bhi sceimh mhna na finne le mo caillin rua

Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Chuir me an deoch ar mo caillin deas rua!

B’fhearr liom i na bo is na serrach,
A bhfuil da loinghis a’ tarraingt chun cuain,
B’fhearr liom aris na cios cluain maidne
Go mbeinn is mo chaillin in mBaile an Luain.

Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Chuir me an deoch ar mo caillin deas rua!

Chuir me mo chailin go margadh Shligidh,
B’e sin fein an margadh bhi daor,
Bhi scilling agus punt ar a pheice mine
No go dtug mise na fuinneadh do mo chailin rua

Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Thug me liom i o bhaile go baile
Chuir me an deoch ar mo caillin deas rua!

Chuaigh si siar le broga breach’uirthi
Ribini glasuaine teannta ‘ar a gruaig,
D’ealaigh si uaimse le buachaill an tsiopa,
‘S a Ri, nar dheas i mo chailin rua!

I guess I fell in love too quick kinda got burned up by a red head chick.
So I ain't tryin go that route again.
I was rolling through a stop sign, lookin at a red light when I seen her *** walk by.
That's when I found my new friend.
And she had blonde hair, bright blue eyes, looking like a flower child.
Top down, music loud jamming to her favourite song.
I'm down, she was down, so we really hit it off.
And I know she could never do, do to me what them red heads do.

    I'm scared that girl's a red head.
    I'm scared that girl's a red head.
Cause everytime I go there I see them red head girls just ain't no good.
    I'm scared that girl's a red head.
    I'm scared that girl's a red head.
Cause everytime I go there I see them red head girls just ain't no good.

Got a girl whose a real knock out, got me all turned out, but I still have doubts.
Why she gonna get her hair done again (she's gonna get her hair done again).
She did something kinda strange the other day, I was looking at a picture of her family,
She came and snatched it away (it away).
And I don't know why she would hide it.
And there are certain things about her, that I still don't know.

My girl walked in today, but there was something strange.
I still recognized her face but something else had changed (oohooh).
She had bright red hair, I just stopped and stared.
Walked by me like she didn't care, that hair was always there.

See I know Imma be okay, I got rid of Miss Red today.
Tryna cover up behind my back, but I knew that red would come right back.

Umm... This is the most free "translation" I've ever seen. It's so free, that it has absolutely nothing to do with the lyrics.

D@nïel@, what Gokdeniz has posted is just the lyrics of another song - "Red Hair" by Shawn Desman.

Nach doiligh domhsa mo chailín a mholadh
'S ní hé amháin mar bhí sí rua
Bhí sí mar ghath gréine a dhul in éadan na gloine
Is bhí scéimh mhná na finne le mo chailín rua

It isn't hard for me to praise my girl
    And not only because she's a red-head:
She's like a sunbeam reflecting from a glass surface
And she resembles the women of classical beauty

/In the version I have (yes, it's a common thing with traditional songs) the chorus goes like:

Thug mé liom í ó bhaile go baile
O gheaftai Dhoire is go Baile Átha Luain
Chan fhuil aon mhíle ó d’fhág mé an baile
Nach dtug mé deoch leanna do mo chailín rua

I brought her with me from town to town
    From Derry's gates to Athlone
There's not a mile since I left town
That I didn't give a drop of ale to my red-headed girl

/In the version you gave, it's just "I brought her with me from town to town"/

B’fhearr liom i na bo is na berrach,
A bhfuil da loinghis a’ tarraingt chun cuain,
B’fhearr liom aris na cios cluain maidne
Go mbeinn is mo chaillin in mBaile Átha Luain

I prefer her to any cow or heifer
Or all the ships drawing into the harbors
I prefer her too to the rent from an east-facing meadow
If I were with my red-headed girl in Athlone

    ... And so on.
