I apologize for the lack of information in advance.

I'm looking for the name of a folk singer, I'm guessing from around the 60s, but I could be off. A friend in college had a tape he got from his mom, and I only heard it a few times. The only parts of the songs I remember, and I'm not sure if they are from the same song or not, are as follows:

One song is about him in a diner and the waitress there

He sings something about how his songs will never make it on the radio because they are too long...the radio only wants 3 minute songs or something like that.

I do realize that what I just described could probably apply to 95% of the folk singers from the 60s, but I thought that on the off chance that someone knows who this is I would ask.

    Thanks!

    Maybe this:

    Arlo Guthrie - Alice's Restaurant (1967)

    The song is 18 minutes...

Thanks, but no, that's not it.

The waitress/diner thing I think was a love song...not sure if it was to the waitress...I think it was.

Thank you very much for responding though!

Try "Somebody" by Mark Wills or "Old Joe's Cafe" by the Folksmen
