A few misheard lyrics in this one (easy to do given the enunciation at times)

This is what is listed on the site:

He never said among them would
They never said among them would
They never said among them would for me.

Listen to it again and see if this works?

He never said a mumblin' word
They never said a mumblin' word
They never said a mumblin' word for me.

The song is a variation of an old spiritual containing many of the same lyrics
referring to the mistreatment suffered by Jesus Christ at the hands of those who crucified him. Christ apparently chose silence during his situation.

Perhaps Leadbelly felt there was sufficient similarity to his prison treatment to warrant the comparison. Leadbelly could do little to protest his imprisonment and treatment except sing songs.

Any thoughts?
