Solved: Can't figure out a song name

So, the other day I heard a song on the radio and I don't know the name of it (or the artist).

The only thing I can remember is that in the lyrics were "fade to black" (or fades..can't remember exactly).

I've tried looking it up on yahoo and google but all I ever get is Metallica and random artists/songs that aren't what I'm looking for. I'd love it if anyone could help me figure this out. I know it's a kind of slim chance someone will know it...but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Soft 96 (WFTM, 95.9) is the station I heard it on. It's a local station that plays mostly adult alt rock/pop rock (stuff like Jason Mraz and other such stuff...sometimes old stuff from the 90s and 90s as well).

Not much to go on, but perhaps ...

That's not it. The song wasn't sung quiet as slow and I'm pretty sure it was a guy singing it.

Yeah, its frustrating I know. I get a song stuck in my head and it takes major surgery to get it back out again, much less find the title and artist.

"Fade to black" is a very common term in music and lyrics, and you're probably going to get a lot of false positives before we stumble across the right song. But have faith, we will. We've narrowed it down already by determining that its a male singer, so there's half the planet taken off the search list

Without more to go, it will be a needle in the haystack kind of search...

Try the following songs:

"Fade to Black" by Bruce Springsteen
"Fade to Black" by Dire Straits (or Mark Knopfler)
"Fade to Black" by 5NY

It's not the Bruce Springsteen or Dire Straits one.
I couldn't find any where to listen to the 5NY one (never even heard of them).
I found the lyrics for it..but that doesn't help since I don't remember anything other than the "Fade to black" part.
I'm going to try and keep our radio in my room this weekend and listen to it randomly. See if I can catch the song and get more of the lyrics.

If you remember the day you heard the song, you can call the radio station and ask them to look at their playlist for the song. Radio stations are required to keep a playlist so royalties can be paid.
