Thank you very much tim2286, there are some russian expressions with "и" as these Вот и and Словно и and much others that drive me mad. I'll post a similar song later where "и" makes me shiver. Anyway, has Вот и no meaning in the phrase?

"vot i" can have a lot of meanings, depending on context. in this context it is just stating the obvious. like saying "vot kak holodno" It's so cold (a simplified version) or [see] how cold it is.
